CITROËN 2019 BRAND CAMPAIGN – NEW VERSION WITH AMI ONE CONCEPT

After the launch of a first 2018 episode of its Brand campaign, Citroën is back with a new version of this film produced alongside the agency Traction. Broadcast internationally, this episode 2 features the hitchhiker once again in four brand new clips, featuring: Jacques Séguéla/Citroën DS, Xsara Picasso, Sébastien Loeb/Citroën Xsara WRC, New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV. A real ode to freedom, the film shows Citroën’s history which began in 1919: “We have shared the same love of freedom for 100 years”. With the unveiling of AmiOne Concept, this is the opportunity to complement the Brand film by incorporating this first object of urban mobility! The images are accompanied by a timeless musical success, “Take the long way home”, sung by Roger Hodgson, co-founder of SUPERTRAMP.

Citroën is launching a new brand campaign entitled "Citroën Inspired By You". The brand has always been interested in the relationship people have with cars. This attachment to people is inscribed in Citroën's DNA and has never wavered throughout its history. Today the brand is putting into images the experience people have with their cars, inspired by the findings of the survey carried out in Europe with CSA Research and published on 28 September, "Our lives inside our cars".

CITROËN C3 - 'THE FACE'

Director Peter Sluszka takes us on a fantastical pixilation road trip in a spot for the C3 car from Citroën. Sluszka via Agency H in Paris intergrates a driver with a road and makes the simple pleasures of singing in your car a unique adventure. The song the driver sings to is a remix of Hit the Road Jack, made popular by Ray Charles. The Citroën C3 has a Panoramic Zenith Windscreen, which is to say you can see a whole lot...as the window reveals not only what’s in front of you but above you as well. The visibility allowed by the window makes the driver feel like they are part of the landscape. This unique feature was the inspiration for this ad. We begin tight on a pupil with a circular road of miniature cars in motion and pull out to reveal our driver (actor Mike Ivers). He is a giant amongst the small landscapes of city, towns, farmland and even outer space. At one point he transforms into an owl, metaphorically representing the heightened senses and visibility afforded by the Citroën windshield at night. The flash of two cruising comets takes us out of the stop motion world and into the live action world, where we end on the driver seated comfortably in his Citroën C3.

Photographed on a Canon 7D, the driver patiently posed for hours at a time while animators, art department, and a make-up artist changed the world around and on him, all while lip-syncing the song one frame at a time.

FORWARD - CITROËN | Ein undefiniertes Werbeobjekt

The Agency has been exploring different ways of working, creating and producing and has launched its own Content Lab: a space where the pace is reduced, pressure from daily tasks removed along with the ability to give sufficient time to take a big step back in order to find the right partners, produce, think and put things into question. The driving force being « Freedom ». From this was born the Citroën « Forward » project. One year ago the Agency presented a wild idea to the Citroën Client and proposed a completely different way of approaching and producing it. The story of a man face to face with nature in which the Agency was free to create it's own form and tone . The car is shown in a way that has never been seen before and the brand logo appears nowhere in the film. When confronted with the question « should we have a classical logo at the end of the film ? » the answer from Xavier Beauregard was « is it possible to have missed the brand ? » In conclusion the Agency has produced a hybrid piece of work which is hard to identify or even name: in short an unidentified advertising object.
